Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has assured of taking necessary initiatives to resolve the ongoing gas crisis in the industrial sector. This information was revealed by Shaukat Aziz Russell, President of the Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA), after a meeting with the Prime Minister at the Secretariat on Wednesday morning (July 29).

Following the meeting, Shaukat Aziz Russell stated that the gas crisis in the industrial sector has arisen due to a lack of timely decisions. However, he added that the government is sincerely working to address the current situation.

He informed that the Prime Minister is seriously considering the current crisis and problems facing the textile sector. The government’s positive attitude towards resolving issues in this sector has created confidence and enthusiasm among entrepreneurs.

The BTMA president further added that reports have been requested from entrepreneurs to ascertain the actual condition of industrial factories that are either fully shut down or partially affected due to the gas crisis. Necessary steps will be taken after identifying what kind of assistance each factory requires.

He expressed hope that the government’s swift initiatives would improve the gas supply situation in the industrial sector and restore production to normalcy.
